Animated mattes are used as a transparency element. Our grey scale animated mattes are used to define transparency in composited video. Animated mattes do not contain alpha channels like our lower thirds, overlays, wipes, reveals and design elements. The way you apply the animated matte in your editing software is different depending upon which application you are using. Refer to your application users guide for more information about using transparency mattes. Our mattes are designed to be used with specific Digital Preserves animations. The name and length of the matte matches the name and length of the animation it is intended to be used with. When aligned in your timeline, the matte will match the animation. Our animated mattes are available as downloads in DV (720X480 QT and AVI), PAL (720X576 QT) and HD (1920X18080 QT). Visit our Mattes Category to choose the matte matches the animation you would like to make tansparent. If it is not listed, just notify us and we will add it for you!
